1) Understand
My first step is to understand the body-mind constitution of the client, nature of the imbalance that is causing the disease and design a treatment program to guide the client back into balance. The treatment program utilizes what is commonly called five sense therapies as its foundation, customized to client’s unique body constitution.
2) Personalize
Using the sense of taste, I prescribe a diet. This diet is very specific and describes the exact foods in each category a client may consume. This includes specific grains, meats, dairy, nuts, vegetables, fruits, oils etc. In addition, I recommend herbs that can bring balance to health. Client’s unique body-mind constitution and imbalances are taken into consideration in the design of the formulations.
3) Holistic
Using the same principle color therapy, aroma therapy and sound therapy are utilized in the healing. These modalities can have strong special effects on specific diseases, and this is recognized and considered in designing a treatment.
4) Maintain
For the treatment of the mind, Ayurveda merges with its sister science from India: yoga. By using yoga and meditation, I encourage my clients to adopt a lifestyle that de-stresses and restores peace of mind. Stress reduction is an important component of the healing process.
