This is the time when your digestive fire is the strongest. Your dinner should be very light and easily digestible. Have your dinner two-three hours before going to bed. This will allow your stomach to empty itself before you go to sleep and allows the natural detoxification processes that happens overnight.
Sleep is Vital
The quality and amount of sleep have tremendous impact on almost every system of your body and is a major contributing factor in weight gain. It is vital to connect with the Natural Light/Dark Cycles, the Circadian Rhythms. Not only is sleeping enough, but sleeping in rhythm with the sun is as vital. According to Ayurveda, the best time to sleep is from 10 pm to 6 am. It provides a deeper and nourishing sleep. In addition, turn off your cell phone, computer and TV an hour before your bedtime as it blocks the adequate production of melatonin for healthy sleep cycles.
